When I was a little girl, I wanted to be everything under the sun: a teacher, a pilot, a firefighter, a lawyer, the President, a detective in the Special Victims Unit (thank you Law and Order), a writer… the list goes on and on. There has always been one common thread though… I have always wanted to be a mother. This is a dream that has been made manifest in my three little miracles, two daughters and a son. Mommy is definitely my most favorite label, but if I had to narrow down some others I would say I am a maternal advocate, a holistic wellness coach and a writer. My passion for being a mother has translated into a desire to help and support other women in the sacred journeys of womanhood, pregnancy, birth and motherhood and it fuels both my birth work and my writing.
I was raised in New York City, went to high school in New Hampshire, college in Connecticut, taught high school English in Hawaii for a year and currently live in my husband’s hometown of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. I am a CAPPA trained labor doula and childbirth educator and an Aura Wellness Center trained yoga instructor. I work at Swarthmore College as their first Wellness Program Manager, and I have my MFA in Creative Writing.
In the next year I hope to complete my second screenplay, as well as a novel I’m working on, enroll in Aviva Romm’s Herbal Medicine Woman Distance Learning Program, and create my own workshops, retreats and webinars.
