Winter Elixir

Every winter, without fail my daughters get sniffles and coughs that can go on for weeks if I don’t catch them early. So, at the first sign of a cold, I make this drink for them. It breaks up any mucous that has started to form and gives their immune system a little boost at the same time.

Winter Elixir

8oz water (hot or cold, i prefer mine hot… it makes the drink more like a tea or hot cider)

1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar

1 TBSP Fresh Squeezed Lemon (or Lime) Juice

1 Rounded TBSP Raw Organic Honey

1 Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

Directions:

If you are making the drink with hot water add all the ingredients into a mug and briskly stir with a spoon. If you are making the drink with cold water I would suggest putting it in a mason jar, or another container with a lid and giving it a good shake.

The recipe is for one cup of elixir, but I often make it in large quantities, and heat it up as needed/wanted.

Enjoy!
